sheep2sweater.co.uk is the web site of Lesley Sophia, a business based in Bolton, Lancashire. Lesley Sophia designs and makes bespoke handspun and hand knitted garments, and provides a handspinning service both to animal breeders and to members of the public. Lesley Sophia has also designed, and makes, a unique range of knitted headwear, which can be purchased 'off the peg', or customised versions can be made to your requirements. What sort of fibre is suitable for spinning?
 
Provided that it is of sufficient length, and not too coarse, fibre from almost any animal can be spun. Lesley has, in the past, spun dog hair, cat hair and rabbit hair, although the majority of Lesley Sophia's yarn is spun from fibre originating from sheep, llamas and alpacas. Lesley Sophia also spins silk, angora, cashmere and camel fibre.
